The man arrested on Wednesday morning on suspicion of a series of hit-and-runs in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties that killed a woman and injured several people is now facing multiple charges in the latter.

Kareem Welton, 40, of Philadelphia, was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault in Montgomery County. He allegedly attacked and seriously injured a runner in Collegeville before being arrested by the police.

At around 5:55 on Wednesday morning, Collegeville police received the first report that a gray Nissan Altima had been stolen and was driving along Main Street. Later, the car was spotted by police driving across the Perkiomen Bridge at high speed.

After a while, the police said that they found the injured runner lying on the road after being hit by a vehicle.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver allegedly crossed the lane into an oncoming vehicle traveling east along the main street and hit the runner. Police said Welton then returned to the westbound lane and fled the scene.

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said: “The defendant not only recklessly drove at a high speed, but also deliberately aimed at the runner and hit him in an attempt to kill him.” Say“From the defendant’s overnight behavior, we can see the intention of killing and seriously wounding.”

The victim was identified as 38-year-old Kyle Hilligass, 6ABC Report. Police said Hilligas was taken to a Philadelphia hospital with serious injuries, including spine fractures, ribs and leg fractures. The victim is expected to survive.

A passenger on the motorcycle was identified as a 28-year-old woman with minor bumps and bruises when she was taken to the hospital. She is classified as stable. The police said the other passenger was a 29-year-old male who was not injured.

Police said the car later fled the scene and hit two other pedestrians after jumping over the side of 15th Street and South Street. The driver then turned around and allegedly hit a victim lying on the ground.

The victim, who was allegedly hit twice by the suspect, was taken to Jefferson University Hospital and was pronounced dead at 4:45 on Wednesday morning.

The police confirmed that the deceased was 31-year-old Adriana Moreno, NBC10 reportPolice claimed that Moreno had just completed her shift at nearby Steak 48 and was walking with a male colleague who was able to jump off an oncoming vehicle.

Due to this incident, Steak 48 was closed on Wednesday.

The driver then fled the scene on foot, leaving the stolen vehicle in Kuan Street and South Street.

The suspect allegedly stole another car and assaulted a pedestrian in the Umbria and Hermitage Street areas of Manayank around 5.30am. Police said the victim was sent to There is no life-threatening hospital.

The suspect’s family claimed that Wellton was under the influence of drugs or alcohol and had a mental illness earlier that night.
