UK Health Minister Sajid Javid has tested positive for COVID-19 | Coronavirus pandemic news

Sajid Javid has tested positive for COVID-19 as the government plans to lift most of the pandemic restrictions in England.

British Health Minister Sajid Javid said that he tested positive for COVID-19, but his symptoms were mild and he had received two doses of vaccine against the disease.

Javid, who served as Minister of Health for three weeks, supports Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s plan Completely reopened Beginning Monday, England’s economy has lifted legal restrictions on the coronavirus.

“I felt a little groggy last night, so I ran a lateral flow test this morning and the result was positive,” he said in a video message on Twitter on Saturday.

According to government regulations, Javid must now self-isolate for 10 days unless the PCR test result is negative and he no longer has symptoms.

However, as coronavirus cases surged again, many scientists said that the government planned to cancel most of the UK’s legal pandemic requirements on Monday, which is endangering the NHS.

The number of daily COVID cases in the UK exceeded 50,000 on Friday for the first time since mid-January, and Javid warned that this number could double in the coming weeks.

However, the government insisted that two-thirds of the adult population is now vaccinated and the risk is manageable. It was called “Freedom Day” by many British media on Monday.
