San Diego (CNS)-Police said on Thursday that a 59-year-old woman was hit by an SUV while crossing an intersection in Mountain View. She suffered serious head injuries and a man suffered minor injuries.

San Diego police officer Tony Martinez said the accident occurred at around 9:20 on Wednesday night at the intersection of National Highway west of Interstate 805 and South 43rd Street.

Martinez said that when they were turned left into the National Avenue from 43rd Street by a 2016 Jeep SUV, they were crossing the Northbound National Avenue on the crosswalk.

Martinez said the woman was taken to the hospital for skull fractures and cerebral hemorrhage-it is believed that these injuries will not be life-threatening. The man’s age could not be determined immediately. He suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The driver of the jeep stayed at the scene but did not immediately provide detailed information about the driver.
