The Chester County District Attorney’s Office announced that an employee of the Philadelphia School District was arrested on Monday after being charged with 100 counts of child pornography.
Daniel Gaudiello, 45, of Downington, Pennsylvania, is alleged to have more than 200 illegal images and now faces 50 charges of disseminating child pornography, 50 charges of child pornography, and one criminal charge of using communication facilities.
This DA Office says Local authorities learned from a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Delaware County Internet Crime Working Group against Children that 145 pornographic images of children were “uploaded to an Internet provider.”
Between February 2019 and April 2021, these images depicting “preteen females aged 6 to 10 years of age who are nude and in sexually suggestive clothing and poses” were sent and sent between the same email addresses.
“It’s disgusting to think about the innocent young children who were posed for pictures to satisfy the depraved behavior of the defendant and others like him,” District Attorney Debrien said.
Officials said the local law enforcement agency used a search warrant in May and confiscated computers and USB flash drives with relevant images on them.
“Any violation of this trust is unacceptable. Upon learning of this recent incident, the school district took immediate action to reassign individuals and prevent any further interaction with our students,” the Philadelphia School District told USA Today.
The school district stated that since May 19, Gaudiello has not “actively engaged in teacher work”. He was released on unsecured bail of $100,000 and held a preliminary hearing on July 21.
