Adhering to the grand tradition of combining awesome things with another, Pennsylvania will soon become the home of America’s first virtual reality waterslide.

Kalahari Resorts and Conventions, a water park chain located in Pocono Manor, will launch new attractions on National Water Park Day on July 29, which seems to have been around for five years.

The resort is working with the San Francisco-based Ballast virtual reality, A company established in 2017 to create water virtual reality experiences for water park rides and swimming pools.

Ballast VR’s VRSlide technology uses a sensor-based waterproof headset that the water ski rider wears before the water ski tube. The rider can choose one of three adventures: an African safari, an encounter with aliens in outer space, or a castle with a fire-breathing dragon.

The company launched its first virtual reality waterslide Galaxy Ending in Munich, Germany in 2018. Let’s take a look at the experience below.

The company said: “In the past four years, Ballast VR has launched several new attractions that enhance the thrill of virtual reality by combining otherworldly visual effects with incredible physical sensations.”

In addition to the waterslide, Kalahari Resorts also has a large game room, black light and outdoor mini golf course, escape room and two virtual reality arenas that offer zombie, pirate and transformer games.
