GRANT SHAPPS tells ordinary British people who are fully vaccinated can travel to amber countries without having to isolate at home

Transport Secretary Grant Sharps told the House of Commons: “I can confirm today that from July 19, British residents who have been fully vaccinated through the UK Vaccine Deployment will no longer need to self-quarantine when they return to England.

“They still need to take the test three days before returning, test before departure to prove that they were negative before the trip, and take the PCR test on or before the next day, but they will no longer need to take the eight-day test.

“In essence, this means that for fully vaccinated travelers, the requirements for green and amber listed countries are the same.

“It needs to be clear that a complete vaccination means that 14 days have passed since your last vaccination. It is also important to note that health issues have been decentralized. Therefore, the decision and implementation of the British government may be different. We will Continue to work with decentralized governments to ensure that we achieve our common goal of returning to international travel safely, sustainably, and steadily.”
