San Diego (CNS)-According to the National Weather Service, a heat wave this weekend will cause temperatures in the mountains and deserts of San Diego County to soar.

Forecasters say that a powerful high-pressure system over the Great Basin will expand westward this week, and the sweltering weather will begin on Saturday morning.

From Saturday morning to Sunday night, the National Weather Service issued overheating warnings for mountains and deserts.

In the next few days, as high pressure forms over CA, the impact will be mixed.

According to the National Weather Service, the highest point in the desert on Saturday and Sunday may reach 119, while the mountain mercury is expected to reach 103 in both days.

At the same time, the high temperature in the coastal area is expected to be between 70 and 80 degrees on Wednesday, as low as 80 degrees in the western valley, and as low as 90 degrees and 90 degrees near the foothills. As low as 100 seconds in the mountains, as low as 110 seconds in the desert.

The county has opened nine “cool zone” locations to help the public resist the heat. They are located in the Alps, Borrego Springs, Fallbrook, Lakeside, Potrero, Ramona, San Isabel, Spring Valley and the valley center.
