The independent saint member said he doesn’t think he will be vaccinated against COVID every year

Martin McKee, a professor of European public health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a member of Independent Sage, said that he does not think people will be vaccinated against coronavirus every year in the future.

He told Time Radio: “I suspect we will find that in the next few years, we will have several different vaccine variants, and then it may be enough. Then obviously young people must be vaccinated when they enter the crowd.”

Professor McGee added that he believes it is important to vaccinate children from a “demographic perspective” because 87% of people need to be vaccinated in order to develop “population immunity” to the virus.

“20% of the population is under the age of 18, and in some communities this percentage is higher, so from a demographic perspective, this seems obvious,” he said.

“I think people in JCVI look at this from the perspective of individual children and consider the risk/benefit balance. They have a low enthusiasm for vaccinating children, but I am a public health doctor. From a demographic perspective, it is very Obviously we must vaccinate children.”
