Shannon and Hugo dumped their partners just weeks before signing up for the show’
LOVE Islandâs Sharon Gaffka has insisted she did tell her Whitehall bosses she was going on the show this summer – and they are âhuge fansâ of it.Â
The 25-year-old was reported to have quit her job as a civil servant in the Department for Transport and it was claimed that her decision to go on the show was a shock to her department.
She said: “My intention post Love Island is to return to my profession. I did tell my boss and colleague that I am going on Love Island. They are really big fans of the show so I think they are more excited about it than I am.
Asked if she will have to monitor her behaviour because of her job, she explained: âI think that there is that civil service code of conduct to be aware of but itâs not something that is massively unaligned from my own personal morals and code of conduct anyway.
âI am not there to talk about my job or profession. I am there to find love, I am not particularly conscious or nervous that I will say something I shouldnât.â
Meanwhile, Chloe Burrows boasted of having an affair with her married City executive boss in a promotional video for the show watched by millions of its fans.
And in a new promo for Monday’s launch show, Shannon Singh strips down to a thong bikini as she kicks off viewers’ introduction to the latest batch of singletons. She purrs “let’s go” as she puts a record on before posing for the camera.
The full list of Islanders for this year was revealed on Monday – a week ahead of this season’s first episode airing on June 28.

SQUEAKY CLEAN
This yearâs crop of Love Island stars has been vetted for criminal records â to avoid sex offenders slipping through the net.
And researchers have spent hours poring over their social media pages looking for any red flags or bad behaviour.
Theyâve been looking for any examples of racist, sexist, homophobic or bullying Tweets that could blow up in producersâ faces.
All wannabees picked for the ITV show have been the subject checks by the governmentâs Disclosure and Barring Service â just like teachers must undergo before getting classroom jobs.
ITV chiefs wanted to weed out any would-be Love Islanders with a serious rap sheet.
A telly insider said: âThe makers carried out suitable background checks on everyone who was shortlisted in the selection process.â

He told PA Media: âIf I can set a great example and show people that having a disability doesnât mean you canât be mainstream or it doesnât mean that I donât have a right to find love and things like that, then that would be great.

âI WAS SHYâ
Love Islandâs Zara McDermott has admitted she struggled on Love Island after giving up her job as a government advisor.
The 24-year-old now works full-time as a social media influencer, boasting millions of followers.
Talking to The Sunâs TV Mag, Zara said: âI was 21 when I went on Love Island, but I was still shy and introverted, so it was the most character-testing experience.
âYouâre surrounded by people who are such huge personalities.
âI was thrown into the deep end with a huge group of people, trying to stand out and be yourself.
âSometimes I donât even know how I got on to the show â Iâm not a party girl, Iâm not an outgoing person. Iâm quite a calm, relaxed person.
âI questioned going on it because I loved my job and wasnât sure I wanted to leave it. But now â it sounds weird and some people donât believe itâs a real job â I find influencing quite a creative job. I donât know how long Iâm going to be doing it for, so why not maximise it?â

SHAN BE TAMED
Love Island star Shannon Singh was a glamour girl, an Only Fans superstar and famously boasted of having sex eight times a day.
But in real life she insists sheâs really âquite timidâ and would only get intimate with a guy in the villa once theyâve earned her trust.
The 22-year-old Scot, whose dad was a stripper too, said she made âgood moneyâ from modelling on Only Fans â the website best known for making X-rated performers rich.
However, she told The Sun before heading into the villa: âI canât really say Iâm a millionaire.â
She said: âI think itâs a really good income stream but thereâs still a stereotype about girls of Only Fans.

Shannon told the Daily Star: âI did a live stream on social media and got trolled â being called racist remarks and loads of stuff.
âSocial media has given people a voice and itâs not necessarily a nice one.
âSometimes Iâll roll out of bed and be in a good mood and I wonât let it affect me.
âBut obviously I have days when I get out of bed and read something and I want to react.â
Shannon added: âIâve already got a thick skin in terms of what people say.
