The U.S. far-right Patriot Front has carved its name on the memorial to the black man killed by the police.

According to police, the statue of George Floyd was destroyed less than a week after it was unveiled and marked with the name of a neo-Nazi organization in New York City.

Police said a nearly two-meter-high memorial was found on Thursday morning, dedicated to a 46-year-old black man killed by a policeman in May last year. The memorial was covered in paint.

The inscription comes from the U.S. far-right Patriot Front, which is believed to have also damaged another person in neighbouring New Jersey who paid tribute to Freud.

Authorities released a video showing four people near the crime scene in the Flatbush area of ??Brooklyn, one of them holding a spray paint can.

The defacement occurred on Friday before the verdict on 45-year-old police officer Derek Chauvin, whose killing of Freud sparked the largest racial justice demonstration in the United States in decades.

New York police said they are investigating the attack on the monument.

New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Twitter: “I am very clear about what the neo-Nazis are doing: leave our state,” he added that agents of the state police force will help with the investigation.

“We will bring these cowards to justice,” New York Mayor Bill de Blasio commented on Twitter.

This wooden statue made by artist Chris Carnabuci was built in the witness of George’s brother Terrence Floyd on Saturday.

Later Wednesday or early Thursday, another Freud statue in front of Newark, New Jersey City Hall was also covered in paint.

According to the news website NJ.com, before the bronze statue was immediately cleaned up, the inscription “Patriot Front” was also found there.

Newark police launched an investigation.

According to Minnesota law, Shavin has been jailed for at least 12.5 years since he was sentenced to three counts of murder and manslaughter two months ago.

But the prosecution cited Xiao Wan’s “extra cruel” behavior and demanded a sentence of up to 30 years in prison.
