The company recalled some Linessa 21 contraceptive pills due to missing pills and incorrect packaging

Health Canada said in an alert that Aspen Pharmacare Canada is recalling a batch of Linessa 21, a prescription contraceptive pill, due to missing pills and packaging errors.

Some affected blister packs (batch number 200049, which will expire in March 2023) may lack tablets, have more than one tablet in the same blister bag, or the order of the pills may be wrong. According to the recall alert Released on Saturday. The alert is for the public and healthcare professionals.

Anyone with missing or incorrectly packed pills should return them to the pharmacy for replacement.

“Don’t miss a pill, don’t eat a pill indiscriminately, or take two pills at the same time, as this may cause unintended pregnancy and other side effects, including spots and irregular bleeding,” said the alarm.

“If you have questions or concerns about your products or alternatives, please consult a healthcare professional and use an effective back-up method of contraception (such as condoms).”

Health Canada stated that if there are any other affected areas, it will notify Canadians.It also says that people should report anything related to health products side effect or Complaint Health Canada.
