San Diego (CNS)-The San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds will welcome sailors from their eponymous ships-the San Diego and Cincinnati-to Peco Park on Sunday as the Padres are in the stands for the first time since 2019 Recruit new soldiers.

245 recruits and 10 instructors from Mike’s Company, Third Recruit Training Camp, San Diego Marine Corps Recruit Depot participated in the competition.

U.S. Navy Captain Kevin Ralston (Kevin Ralston), the commander of the USS San Diego, will make the ceremonial first pitch. The national anthem will be sung by second-class noncommissioned officer Nicole Day.

The pre-match ceremony will include a Navy Leapfrog Jumping team of approximately 15 members landing on the field, and a C-17A military transport plane flying over from the March Air Force Reserve Base.

Like every Sunday’s home game, the Padres will wear camouflage jerseys.

All veterans, active military personnel and their families can purchase tickets at www.padres.com/military at a 25% discount.

The San Diego is an amphibious transport terminal ship. The Cincinnati is an independent littoral combat ship. Both ships use San Diego as their home port.

Major League Baseball will continue its Father’s Day tradition, raise awareness of prostate cancer, and support the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Stand Up Cancer Foundation to fight the disease in all Sunday games.

During the Father’s Day game, players and field staff will wear symbolic blue ribbons and blue wristbands on their uniforms. The commemorative basic jewelry and air-raid shelter lineup cards will also be blue.

Players will also wear specially designed hats to raise awareness and funds for the fight against prostate cancer. The hat will have a blue team logo and a symbolic MLB blue ribbon.

Major League Baseball will once again donate all royalties from its sales of special hats and clothing with the iconic blue ribbon to the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Upright Cancer Foundation.

Players can choose to wear multi-pattern blue dyed socks, light blue compression sleeves, batting gloves, wrist guards/elbow guards/leg guards and catcher equipment.

Since 1996, players and all field staff have worn blue ribbons and sports blue wristbands on Father’s Day.
