Drivers who have suffered for a long time may be hit by huge fines because the government has given the Corruption Commission new powers to punish bad driving behavior.
The Ministry of Transport has confirmed that these powers will be enforced from December, and drivers may face a fine of £70 for a series of violations.
Drivers from outside London will face fines for “mobile traffic violations” for the first time, including parking and improper turns at yellow box intersections.
The new powers have raised concerns that a parliament with a shortage of funds may use them to generate income.
It is expected that these rules will be issued by the Parliament in advance with guidelines to ensure that motorists will not be unfairly attacked.
Nearly 300 parliaments in England that are already responsible for enforcing parking violations will be able to apply for these powers.
London and Cardiff are the only cities in England and Wales that have such powers. In other places, the police force is responsible.

Automobile groups warned that drivers may be subject to huge fines.
Research conducted by RAC found that drivers from London and Cardiff were collectively fined £58 million for traffic violations within a year.
For example, a yellow box intersection in Fulham, west London, is fined approximately 1.7 million pounds per year.
RAC spokesperson Simon Williams said: “We are concerned that some authorities may be overly enthusiastic about using their new powers for revenue reasons.
“Drivers who blatantly ignore signs or highway rules should be punished, but some situations are not always clear. Large yellow box junctions can be particularly difficult to cross without stopping.

Currently, the parliament only enforces parking violations and driving on bus lanes.
Normally, drivers will be fined 70 pounds for such violations, up to 130 pounds in London.
