BRITS could be scorched in the 30C sunshine for at least 14 more days with reports of a new heatwave on the way.
According to Netweather the south-east can expect the hottest weather with “Perhaps nudging the low 30s in the south-east of England.”
With humid conditions building towards the weekend, 30C or more is “quite possible” on Saturday and Sunday, said John Hammond of Weather Trending.
The Met Office’s long-range weather forecast reveals that temperatures are to be “very warm perhaps hot for a time” for the first part of the week starting June 14.
On Tuesday the Met Office said in its blog that “high-pressure from the Azores will extend across the bulk of the country this week, bringing predominantly settled weather and allowing temperatures to slowly rise.
“Temperatures, particularly in the south, are likely to reach the mid, to possibly high 20s of Celsius over the next few days and into the weekend. Some areas may reach heatwave criteria.”

They said: “There is a realistic possibility of 30C being reached in the UK for this first time this year before temperatures dip.”

“High pressure is starting to build which should lead to fine and dry conditions, with the occasional showery and thundery outbreaks.
“We’re hopefully looking at what will be a very nice June indeed.” -
WOMAN DIES AT POPULAR ESSEX BEACH AFTER COASTGUARD CALLED TO HELP WITH RESCUE
A woman has died at a popular Essex beach after the Coastguard was called to help rescue a casualty in the sea.
Cops, paramedic teams and the Southend-on-Sea Coastguard arrived at the incident at 10.15am.
An air ambulance was dispatched to the area and Southend RNLI also launched its lifeboat at 11am.
However, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene on Chalkwell beach.
A police spokesperson said: “We were called by colleagues in the Coastguard to concerns for the welfare of a woman in the water at 10.15am, Monday 7 June.”

WEST COAST BRACED FOR “FORMIDABLE” HEATWAVE
A formidable heatwave is set to grip the West Coast over the next week, sending temperatures soaring above 100F.
The early-season hot spell could also break more than 130 heat records from Southern California all the way up to parts of Washington State.
Temperatures will edge over the 100F mark as far north as Eastern Washington during the heat wave’s peak, forecasts from the National Weather Service show.
Some communities in California’s Central Valley could also be hit with temperatures as high as 110F in the coming days.
Similarly, in northern California, highs will range from 20 to 25 degrees above average for this time of year.

Experts have issued the following tips to help get a good night’s sleep.
- Keep bedroom curtains closed during the day
- Use cotton sheets, which will absorb sweat and help you sleep more comfortably
- Open a window an hour before you go to bed
- Use a fan to circulate air around the room
- Put sheets in the freezer for a few minutes before bedtime
When it comes to coping with higher temperatures, Dr Thomas Waite of Public Health England has said: “It’s really important to remember that there are some people whose health suffers in hot weather.
“Older people, those with underlying health conditions, and young children may all feel the ill-effects.”
