San Diego (CNS)-The shoreline of the Tijuanaslau National Wildlife Refuge and Border Wilderness State Park was closed on Saturday because of the possibility of contaminated sewage flowing northward into the United States, the county water department said.

The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality released contact information for the closure of the coastline on Saturday.

DEHQ officials said the seawater samples exceeded state health standards.

The closure includes all beaches from the U.S.-Mexico border to the southern end of Coastal Avenue.

According to DEHQ, the water contact closure sign will remain until the seawater sampling results meet state health standards for recreational use.
