The high pressure will bring mainly stable weather across the UK, while the temperature in the southern and central regions will feel locally warm.

However, there may still be some showers, and there will be sometimes cloudy, humid and cool weather early next week, which is usually pushed from the northwest of England.

During this period, most drought conditions are likely to continue (or return), especially in the south and east, but there is still a risk of brief rains or intermittent showers, most likely to affect the northwest and southernmost regions.

The overall temperature during the year may be close to average.
