Last weekend, people hoping to camp on Crown Land near Harrison Lake in British Columbia said that a group of campers who attended the party drove them out of the campsite and issued thin death threats to them.
Last Friday, the Helmer family of Port Coquitlam set up a tent on a campground on Harrison West Forest Service Road, 215 kilometers east of Vancouver. In order to reach the site, they had to drive around a black truck parked on the diagonal, preventing people from easily entering many vacant campsites.
When King and Shawn Helmer were having lunch with their underage son, a woman arrived and told them to “hurry out,” claiming that the campsite was reserved for friends who hadn’t arrived yet.
The woman was part of a group of campers, which included another woman and four men.

“I said, you can’t reserve a non-reserved campsite,” Kim Helmer said.
Her partner said that the woman told them that the area was prepared for eight to ten people and they were preparing party supplies, “they may be armed.”
“[She said] If they see us in that area, they will destroy us-take us out. She left. “I won’t stop them,” Shawn Helmer said.
Feel threatened
Another camper, Samantha Ruttan of Chilliwack, said that when she and two friends arrived at the scene later that afternoon, she suffered the same threats.
She said, “I got off the truck… They were screaming at me, swearing to me to get the effect.” “I stood in front of the bullies and screamed at them, shut them up and let me Stay alone.”
Ruttan said that she went to talk to Helmers, and Helmers had decided to leave.
Shawn Helmer said: “Our son is very upset. He is clearly crying and crying.” “They made it very clear that if we stay, we are likely to be killed. This is my feeling.”
Ruttan said that when she was talking to Helmers, a man approached her.
“He was only an inch away from my face, screaming that they and eight people with shotguns, they will shoot in our direction, if they hit us, it’s our fault. We were Warning.”
Ruttan posted images of these people on social media, photographed their license plates, and captured some disputes in the video.
In a video, a man was heard saying to Rutan: “We will put the campfire in the middle of this place, and we will make sure you have a painful weekend.”
In another video, another man repeatedly told her to “figure it out.”
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said the campers appeared to have no weapons
Rutan said that she and her friends were threatened.
She said: “They were just screaming at us and giving us a name.” “One of them took off his sweater and said, “I don’t want to go to jail again, but I want to kill someone.”
Rutan contacted the RCMP in Agassiz, the town closest to Harrison Lake, but said that the two officers who spoke with her seemed unwilling to follow up.
She said: “They just said that this is the’he said, she said’ situation, and they will not handle the case.”
However, on Wednesday afternoon, the Upper Fraser Valley RCMP issued a statement stating that the Akashic RCMP is continuing to conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations and the statements posted on social media.
It said: “At present, the campers seem to have no guns. There is no evidence that the incident was racially motivated.”
Helmes said they also contacted the Agassiz Royal Mounted Police to report the dispute between the two parties, but had not received a call back as of Wednesday.
