Five people were injured when a Philadelphia fire truck knocked down a building on Girard Street

Police said that four Philadelphia firefighters and a civilian were injured when a crash occurred on Girard Avenue on Thursday afternoon.

Just after 4 pm, a fire truck with a No. 29 engine on Fourth Street and Girard Avenue was called to a house fire near Front Street and Dauphin Street.

The police said that when the fire truck hit another car, its lights and sirens were loud.

Four firefighters in the truck were injured, and a woman in another vehicle was also injured. Their condition is currently unknown, but it is believed that the injuries are not life-threatening. All the victims of the crash were taken to the hospital.

Officials from the city’s license and inspection department were called to the scene to assess the structural integrity of the building.

Residents are advised to avoid the collision area until further notice.
