Police investigate suspicious death in Ocean Beach Alley

Ocean Beach (CNS)-Police are investigating the suspicious death of a 60-year-old man found in an alley in Ocean Beach on Saturday.

According to Lieutenant Andra Brown, the San Diego Police Department received a call before 11:30 on Friday night, stating that an unresponsive man had fallen into an alley in the 4800 block of Niagara Avenue.

Brown said: “Officials from the Western Command arrived at the site and found the male in the northern alley.” “The male is unresponsive and a citizen is performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.”

The lieutenant said that officials and San Diego Fire Department personnel took life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:41 pm.

Brown said that due to the suspicious nature of the death, SDPD homicide detectives are investigating the matter. She said the man had obvious injuries, but the detective had no information about the circumstances of his death.

Brown said that the victim was initially identified, but his identity was not immediately released.
