Heavy rains in the southern United States caused “major floods”

The National Weather Service said late Wednesday that heavy rains along the Gulf Coast of Texas and Louisiana will continue to cause major flooding risks this weekend.

NWS said that after several consecutive days of heavy rain, flashlight surveillance and flood warnings have been widely used in the central and southern United States, including parts of Arkansas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma.

According to data from the PowerOutage.us website, at 1 am on Wednesday, more than 100,000 customers in Texas had no electricity. At night, the number was approximately 17,700 customers.

According to CNN, at least four people in Louisiana have died due to weather this week.
