The target company plans to open a downtown store in a future 22-story apartment building

San Diego – Target plans to open a store in the upcoming high-rise building in downtown San Diego in the next few years.

The store is planned to be located in the 22-story Cisterra apartment building, which is called the Radian project. San Diego Union Tribune report. Its developers plan to break ground on the tower this summer, with a view to completing it by the summer of 2023.

A Target spokesperson told FOX 5, “This new Target store is delighted to bring a relaxed, safe and convenient shopping experience to new customers in the community.”

The spokesperson said: “As we get closer to opening the store, we will have more specific details to share-including how to tailor the shopping experience for local customers and the grand opening date.”

The developer labelled the Radian Tower as “the next address in praise of the bold, stylish and creative San Diegans”. It plans to have 241 multi-family residences, rooftop and pool decks, dog parks and outdoor theaters.

Cisterra is the developer behind many famous buildings in the city’s skyline, including Diamond View Tower Near Petko Park.
