Turkey’s ERDOGAN announces a one-time payment for pandemic commercial click fees

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan announced on Monday that a one-time payment totaling 4.6 billion lire will be paid to multiple industries hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, including cafes, restaurants and musician.

After the cabinet meeting, Erdogan said in his speech that cafes, wedding venues and theme parks and other businesses affected by the pandemic will receive a one-time payment of 5,000 lire.

He said restaurants, taxi drivers, barbers, musicians, car washes and other activities will receive 3,000 lire.

Erdogan also announced additional support for the agricultural sector.

Turkey got rid of a comprehensive lock-up period that lasted for nearly three weeks on Monday, during which many companies were closed. The daily curfew and weekend no-sales period will last until June.
