Since the most recent violence a week ago, at least 198 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip, including 58 children and 34 women.

According to Al Jazeera’s Safwat al-Kahlout, Israeli fighter jets conducted at least 55 air strikes on Gaza earlier on Monday.

Health authorities say the Israeli airstrike on Gaza City razed to the ground, destroyed three buildings and killed at least 42 people.

According to Save the Children, about 3 children have been injured in Gaza every hour since the violence broke out last Monday.

Thousands of rockets were fired from Gaza, killing 10 Israelis.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that despite the strong protests of the international community, the deadly bombing of the Gaza Strip will continue “full force.”

Netanyahu faces a trial for corruption and is at a deadlock in forming a new government. He said the airstrikes would “take time” and that the Ghanaian country “wants to impose a heavy price on the Hamas ruler in Gaza.”
