San Diego-Police say guests heard some kind of argument before a 20-year-old man was shot and killed in a San Diego resort overnight.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the shooting occurred at about 3:30 am on Sunday at Mission Bay Resort San Diego, one of the hotel’s west towers.

Little is known about the cause of the shooting, but when the police officer arrived and noticed the 911 gunshots, the man was lying in a hotel room with at least one gunshot wound on his body. Lieutenant SDPD said that the officer and subsequent paramedics tried to save the 20-year-old man’s life, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told investigators that before the gunfire, “an incident occurred in the corridor”, two men who might have been involved were found leaving the area wearing an old white car, but there was no further description. As of Sunday afternoon, no one has been arrested.

Officials said the victim has been initially identified, but will not be released until the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office’s report is completed.

Anyone who is aware of the shooting is urged to call the SDPD Homicide Team responsible for the investigation at 619-531-2293. The reminder can also share information anonymously at 888-580-8477.
