Pedestrians walking on the Chula Vista Interstate were hit and killed
Chula Vista (CNS)-Early Friday morning, a pedestrian was hit and killed by at least one car on Chula Vista Interstate 5.
According to the California Highway Patrol, at about 2:50 in the morning, the dispatcher received a report that someone was travelling south in the rightmost lane of the northbound Interstate 5 near E Street.
The Centre for Health Protection reported that shortly afterwards, the pedestrian was hit and declared dead at the scene. A red car and a black SUV were parked nearby, but it is not clear whether the car was involved in the crash.
There is currently no detailed information about the victim.
Soon after 4:15 in the morning, SigAlert was released and the three lanes on the right were closed until at least 5:15 in the morning.
