A former United States Navy Veteran claims he developed mesothelioma, a deadly cancer, from asbestos exposure to asbestos-containing products during his eight-year service in the Navy.  William Bell has filed a suit on December 1 in the Civil Dist. Court of Orleans Parish. The defendants in this case include Cooper Industries, York International Corporation, and Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation. Bell says the companies are responsible for his injury.

The complaint states that Bell suffered exposure to asbestos-containing products from 1960 until 1968 while serving aboard several vessels including the USS Samuel N Moore, USS Bainbridge, USS Grapple, and USS Noble. As a result, according to the suit, Bell contracted malignant mesothelioma. Bell was diagnosed with the fatal cancer on September 3, according to the lawsuit. Mesothelioma is an aggressive and incurable form of cancer caused by inhalation / ingestion of microscopic asbestos fibers. Bell says the defendant companies are liable for his medical condition. The defendants are manufacturers, distributors, or sellers of asbestos-containing products.

Contacting Mesothelioma Law Firm Is The First Step

If you or any of your family members suffer from an asbestos-related illness such as mesothelioma, you might be eligible to receive a large sum of compensation. Contacting an experienced mesothelioma law firm is the vital first step for this. The attorney representing you should have in-depth understanding of industrial history of asbestos exposure and various asbestos-related diseases.

Unlike general practice law firms, mesothelioma law firms primarily focus on asbestos-related diseases. Choosing a law firm specializing in mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases could maximize the chance of an asbestos victim to recover the highest possible damages from the responsible parties. Apart from helping you recover damages, a dedicated asbestos or mesothelioma law firm understands the substantial emotional impact of the disease and helps ease the feelings of asbestos victims and their families all through the legal proceedings.
