“Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial end of summer as families celebrate a last holiday before they fall back into a regular school and work routine," said Deborah A.P. Hersman, NSC president and CEO.”
Many pay attention to these types of reports, but seldom see themselves as ever becoming a part of the statistics. Unfortunately, an accident can happen to anyone at anytime, and it is important that when individuals do become involved in a traffic crash they take necessary steps to ensure the best outcome for themselves for moving forward.
According to Fort Worth based car accident lawyer Amy Witherite, Fort Worth is one area where many who are involved in car crashes don’t opt to exercise their legal rights to pursue compensation to the full extent of the law. Says Witherite “many injured Fort Worth accident victims choose to just deal with things on their own in these cases, but are left with financial debt they cannot pay and other problems in the aftermath.” The attorney says that by getting legal help in these cases, victims who have been harmed by a negligent driver put themselves in a better position to recover long-term.
The following are three key reasons why it may be necessary to contact a car accident attorney in Fort Worth about getting help with a case:
- You need to know what your legal options are – There are various options for car wreck victims in pursuing damages from a driver or other party deemed liable for their injuries and/or property loss. An experienced attorney can review these options and offer counsel on the best route to take in resolving a claim.
- Proving liability can be challenging – So many challenges can arise for injured accident victims with regards to investigating an accident and proving who is at fault. An experienced attorney will typically better know how to deal with any problems that may arise.
- An insurance company could persuade you to take a settlement that is unfair – Insurance companies are renowned for handling claims in a manner that is in the best interests of their insured regardless of the extent of damage they may have done. Therefore, it is important that accident victims have someone on their side who will effectively advocate for what is in their best interests.
