New York – Tracy Morgan, who sustained serious injuries in a car crash last year, is set to return to television to host a fall episode of “Saturday Night Live.” Reuters reported that television network NBC announced Monday that the comedian, who has not performed since the accident, is set to host the sketch show on October 17.

The accident occurred in June 2014. Morgan suffered a brain injury and bone fractures and was left in a coma. Another person was killed in the crash. The former “30 Rock” star discussed his injuries in an emotional televised interview two months ago.

The National Transportation Safety Board has said that a Wal-Mart truck driver who was traveling at an excessive speed and had not slept for 28 hours prior to the accident was responsible for the crash.

Morgan, 46, is a former “SNL” cast member.
