One of the main functions of your liver is to purify waste products, drugs, and toxins. When a person takes Tylenol, their liver will break down the drug into other chemicals. Anyone who has poor nutrition or is fasting or eating less that 500 calories per day may also be at risk of acetaminophen-related liver failure. This is because their bodies may be unable to process the drug as well as healthy users.
