Portugal – Prosecutors in Portugal have ordered the disappearance case of Madeleine McCann to be reopened. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Portugal’s state broadcaster and British police said Thursday that new leads had been found after a review of the evidence.

The young British girl disappeared in 2007 while on family vacation in southern Portugal shortly before her fourth birthday. The case was closed in 2008 after authorities reportedly detected no crime.

Scotland Yard is quoted by the AP as stating of the Portuguese prosecutor’s decision, “it follows the discovery of new lines of enquiry as a result of an internal review of their original investigation by the Portuguese.”
