Nairobi mall attackers named by Kenyan military after being seen on CCTV footage

Nairobi – A spokesperson for the Kenyan military recently named four men who reportedly participated in an Islamist militant attack on a shopping mall in Nairobi last month. As reported by Reuters, the four alleged attackers were stated to have been shown on closed-circuit television footage walking around areas of the Westgate shopping mall with guns.

Major Emmanuel Chirchir, a spokesman for the Kenya Defence Forces, is quoted by Reuters as stating, “I confirm these were the terrorists, they all died in the raid.”

The names of the men were stated to be Abu Baara al-Sudani, Omar Nabhan, Khattab al-Kene and Umayr. Kenya previously stated that between 10 to 15 militants had taken part in the mall attack.
