Plane crash in Taunton kills two people

Taunton – Two people were killed in a plane crash at Taunton Municipal Airport Sunday morning. As reported by Boston.com, the victims have been tentatively identified as John Schmouth, 69, of Brockton, and Roland Deslauriers, 61, of Bridgewater. Schmouth was the pilot.

Bristol district attorney’s office spokesman Gregg Miliote is quoted in the report as saying in a statement released about the accident, “Although next of kin notifications have been made and investigators believe they have identified both victims, the confirmed identities of the two victims will not officially be known until the Medical Examiner’s Office conducts autopsies on the remains.”

The plane was reportedly making an attempt to take off and crashed near the roadway leading to the airport authorities stated. Investigations into the circumstances of the plane crash are underway.
