New Haven, Conn. – A student involved in a fatal accident at a tailgating party during festivities for a Yale-Harvard football game last year has been arrested. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Brendan D. Ross, the 21-year-old who was driving a U-Haul truck when he ran into three women in a designated tailgating area at the game, resulting in the death of one of them, turned himself in to authorities last week.

William Dow, an attorney for Ross, is quoted by the AP as stating of the case, “If there is any good that comes out of this, Brendan has expressed his condolences from the beginning to the family and those condolences were well-received.”

Yale has reportedly made changes in it tailgating rules following the accident including prohibiting oversized vehicles from entering university lots at athletic functions without pre-approved authorization.
