Arne Duncan expresses views on same sex marriage

U.S. – Following Vice President Joe Biden’s remarks about gay marriage on Sunday, Secretary of Education Arne Duncan expressed his views on the issue on a nationally syndicated morning program Monday. As reported by The Ticket, Duncan indicated on “Morning Joe” that he believed in the legalization of same sex marriage.

Duncan is quoted by The Ticket as replying when asked his view on whether gay marriage should be legal in the U.S., “Yes, I do.”

Duncan further stated in regards to why he had never expressed his views on the matter publicly, “I don’t know if I’ve ever been asked.”

In what has garnered media attention as well, Biden stated on Sunday during an appearance on “Meet the Press,” “I’m absolutely comfortable with the fact that men marrying men, women marrying women, and heterosexual men and women marrying another are entitled to the same exact rights, all the civil rights, all the civil liberties.”
