Worker Suffers Internal Injuries at Western Wisconsin Manufacturer

Cadott, WI — A worker was rushed to the hospital with internal injuries after being involved in an industrial accident at a Chippewa County business. The workplace accident occurred Monday afternoon, February 20, 2012, at King Coat in Codott, reported WQOW.

According to reports, a 29-year-old man was working on a bulldozer when the arm fell on top of him and pinned him. The worker was reportedly freed from the arm within minutes of the accident.

The victim’s identity is being withheld at this time.

The Cadott & Chippewa Falls EMS, Cadott Fire Department along with the Cadott Police Department, and Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department all responded to the scene.

The injured worker was airlifted via Mayo One helicopter to Mayo Hospital in Eau Claire after sustaining “primarily internal” injuries. The man was reportedly conscious at the time. His current condition is unknown.

Investigations are underway. It is unknown if the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will be investigating the workplace accident.
