School Bus Crash in Austin Hospitalizes 6

Austin, TX — Six people were hospitalized following a school bus crash Wednesday morning, February 15, 2012. The school bus accident occurred near Parmer Lane and U.S. Highway 290 around 8:15 a.m., reported KXAN.com.

According to officials, a white sedan rear-ended a Manor Independent School District bus, which was headed east on U.S. Highway 290 with 25 to 30 students on board.

Responding emergency crews evaluated 42 patients at the scene, and transported six people to St. David’s Pflugerville and St. David’s in Central Austin. None of the injures appeared to be serious.

It is unknown at this time what caused the vehicle to rear-end the school bus, or whether police cited the driver of the sedan.

Identities of the injured and drivers involved in the crash are being withheld at this time.

Investigations are underway.
