Phoenix, AZ — A Phoenix man died Sunday, February 5, 2011 after sustaining a spinal cord injury at a Valley indoor trampoline park. The fatal accident occurred Thursday at Skypark, near 40th Street and Indian School Road, reported the Tucson Citizen.

Ty Thomasson, 30, was with a group of friends when he was critically injured after jumping into a foam pit at the indoor trampoline complex.

How Thomasson exactly fell into the pit is unknown at this time. Some claim he was trying to do a double front flip, while others say he was diving in backwards, reported AZ Family.

Thomasson broke his neck and lay immobile following the accident. Responding emergency crews reported that Thomasson was not breathing and had no pulse, before being rushed to an area hospital.

On Sunday, Thomasson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Investigations into the indoor trampoline park accident are underway.
