Eustis, FL — A 14-year-old boy was killed Thanksgiving weekend when two personal watercrafts collided in Lake County. The fatal crash occurred on Sunday afternoon, November 27, 2011, around 3 p.m. on Lake Joanna, reported WESH Orlando.

According to police, Nicholas Polk, 14, of Mount Dora, was killed in the wreck.

Polk was among three other teens that were riding two watercrafts on the lake. The two watercrafts were reportedly headed towards one another, when one turned left and the other veered right, hitting each other side by side.

Polk was reportedly a passenger on one of the personal watercrafts. The other teens remained uninjured in the collision. They all were reportedly wearing life jackets at the time.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission revealed that none of the teens had completed the state-required watercraft safety course.

The crash is currently under investigations, and no citations have been issued at this time.
