Austin, TX — A school bus accident in East Austin hospitalized three Austin High School students Monday morning, November 21, 2011. The automobile accident occurred around 8:45 a.m. on south Ed Bluestein Boulevard and Bolm Road, reported the Austin American-Statesman.

According to officials, the school bus was headed west on Bolm Road when a southbound Dodge pickup truck on Ed Bluestein Boulevard collided at the intersection. Police say it is not clear at this time who was at fault, but it’s apparent one of the vehicles ran a red light.

Responding emergency crews transported the three students to University Medical Center Brackenridge for treatment.

There were reportedly two dozen students on board the bus at the time of the crash, which was on its way to pick up students from Eastside High and take them to Austin High School.

Investigations into the school bus crash are underway.
