Rock Hill Utility Workers Injured in South Carolina Workplace Accident

Rock Hill, SC — A workplace accident left three city of Rock Hill utility workers with injuries Thursday morning, September 15, 2011. The workers were working on electrical equipment along Mount Gallant Road between Museum Road and Dockside Drive when the accident occurred, reported The Herald.

According to a release from the city, the electric division workers were performing routine maintenance on the electrical equipment when the workplace accident took place.

Officials are still trying to determine what happened and what had caused the workplace accident.

Responding emergency crews airlifted one of the employees to an area hospital, where the worker remains while undergoing medical treatment. The 40-year-old worker reportedly sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The two other workers were also taken to an area hospital and were treated and released.

Investigations into the workplace accident are underway. It is unknown if the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will be conducting its own investigation into the accident.
