Arlington, TX — A spectator at the Rangers Ballpark was rushed to the hospital after falling 21 feet in a stairwell, while leaving a game against the Los Angeles Angels. The accident occurred Saturday night, August 27, 2011 at around 9:45 p.m., reported the Dallas Morning News.

According to officials, the 24-year-old fan fell near the home plate while leaving the stadium at the end of the baseball game. The man was knocked unconscious in the fall.

Stadium medical personnel immediately administered medical treatment to the man, before he was rushed to an area hospital.

Investigators are still trying to determine how the man fell.

This isn’t the first spectator accident to occur at the Rangers Ballpark. On July 6, Shannon Stone of Brownwood, Texas fatally fell from the left-field stands while trying to catch a ball thrown by Rangers’ outfielder Josh Hamilton.

The Rangers finished the game with an 8-4 loss to the Los Angeles Angels.
