Manhattan, KS — A construction worker was fatally injured in a construction accident at Kansas State University’s Bill Snyder Family Stadium on Monday, August 1, 2011. The fatal construction accident occurred on the east side of the stadium, where bathrooms are being added, at around 12:27 p.m., reported CJOnline.

According to KSU police, 26-year-old Zachary John Wilson, of Council Grove, was doing masonry work when a wooden board on the scaffolding gave way, causing Wilson to fall through. Wilson reportedly fell about 100 feet onto the stadium’s parking lot.

Responding emergency crews pronounced Wilson dead at the scene of the construction accident.

Five Star Masonry, a subcontractor of Konrath Construction Mangers, reportedly employed Wilson at the time of the accident.

KSU police and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating the fatal construction accident.
