Garden Grove, CA — They say don’t mess with a woman scorned, and now we may know why. A Garden Grove woman laced her husband’s dinner with drugs then cut off his penis with a kitchen knife, reported the Los Angeles Times.

Catherine Kieu Becker, 48, told police that her husband “deserved it” after cutting off his penis with a 10-inch kitchen knife on Monday, July 10, 2011. Becker now could face a life sentence if convicted.

Police were called to the couple’s Garden Grove home in the 1400 block of Flower Street at 9 p.m., after Becker called 911.

When officers arrived at the home they found the husband tied to a bed and bleeding. Becker said she drugged his dinner to make him sleepy, then tied him to the bed and cut off his penis before throwing it into a garbage disposal.

The 51-year-old unidentified husband was rushed to UC Irvine Medical Center where he had emergency surgery in an attempt to repair the damage.

According to police, Becker and her husband have been married for 11.5 years, and it is believed her husband initiated a divorce. No motive for the attack has been identified.

Police arrested Becker on suspicion of aggravated mayhem, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, administering a drug with intent to commit a felony, poisoning and spousal abuse.

The aggravated mayhem charge carries a sentence up to life in prison.

Becker is being held on a $1 million bail. Investigations are underway.
