North Charleston, SC — A boy is dead after being ran over by a piece of machinery and then left at the scene—dead—for hours following the accident. The fatal accident occurred on Sunday, July 10, 2011, when four young boys broke into the ConGlobal Industries facility off Spruill Avenue sometime after 5 p.m., reported Live5News.com.

According to police officials, the four boys—ages ranging from 8 to 13-years-old—broke into the facility and started playing with the heavy duty loading equipment, when one of the top loaders tilted, ejecting 12-year-old Corion Baptiste. Another boy, who was driving a second loader in reverse, backed over Baptiste.

The three other boys fled the scene and went home, while leaving Baptiste at the scene.

“They left the area, went back home, did not tell anyone for fear they would get in trouble,” North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor said to Live5News.

When a parent began questioning the boys about where Baptiste was, it subsequently led them to alert police who arrived at the scene at around 11:30 p.m.

The ConGlobal facility was locked and there were no workers present at the time of the fatal accident. Police say the boys got into the facility by climbing underneath a fence.

No charges have been filed against the company. Charges are expected to be pressed against the three boys, but so far no charged have been filed.

Investigations are underway.
