CPSC: Dollar Tree Recalls Glass Votive Candle Holders for Fire/Injury Risks

Chesapeake, VA — About 117,000 glass votive candle holders were voluntarily recalled by Dollar Tree Stores Inc., and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) for fire and laceration hazards. The CPSC announced the product recall on July 5, 2011.

The product recall was issued after discovering that the glass votive candle holders can shatter while in use, which poses a fire and laceration hazards to consumers.

“This recall involves frosted or clear glass votive candle holders with French vanilla scented candles. The votive candle holders are 2 1/2 inches tall. Model number 976127 and date code 1010 are printed on the bottom of the glass votive candle holder,” reported the CPSC.

Consumers are advised to return the glass votive candle holders to the place of purchase for a full refund.
