Hampton, VA—A man was killed after he got stuck in a piece of asphalt equipment at a Hampton industrial plant on Monday, January 31, 2011. The fatal industrial accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at Branscome Inc., located in the 1900 block of West Pembroke Avenue, as reported by WAVY.

According to officials, 56-year-old old Francisco Albino of Virginia Beach was operating a piece of asphalt equipment when he somehow got stuck in it. It is unknown what caused Albino to become lodged in the equipment. He was apparently conducting maintenance work when the accident occurred.

When emergency rescue crews arrived at the scene to remove the worker from the equipment, he had already passed away.

Albino had worked for Branscome Inc. for 10 years.

Investigations are underway. Either Hampton Police or the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will be investigating the deadly industrial accident.
