High Falls, NC—A collision involving a school bus and pickup truck resulted in one fatality and sent two victims to area hospitals Thursday afternoon, Jan. 6, 2010. The deadly school bus accident occurred in close proximity to High Falls in Moore County, as reported by FayObserver.com.

Reports indicated two brothers, 31-year-old Danny Ray Greene and 39-year-old Dona Greene were traveling along N.C. 22 in a Nissan pickup truck when it collided with a school bus.

According to North Carolina State Highway Patrol Trooper K.R. Burroughs and Moore County Schools spokesman Tim Lussier, the wreck occurred as Moore County Schools Bus 102 was turning into High Falls Elementary School after making its afternoon commute.

Danny Greene was killed in the bus-truck collision, though it was not clear if his injuries proved fatal at the scene or at a medical center.

Donald Greene was flown to an area hospital via medical helicopter. The extent of his injuries was not immediately known.

School bus driver David Shelton, who was the only person aboard the bus at the time, suffered undisclosed injuries and was transported to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. He was treated and subsequently released.

While details remain scarce, charges have apparently been filed in connection with the Moore County school bus accident.
