Chippewa Falls, WI– The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating a fatal construction accident, which claimed the life of one worker and injured three others at a sand plant construction site. The construction accident occurred at EOG Resources Inc., at around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2010, as reported by WSAW.

The Chippewa Falls Police Department reported, a 36-year-old Marshfield man identified as Kevin Kadrlick was standing on a cement wall when it collapsed and pinned him underneath. Kadrlick died as a result of compression injuries to his head and chest.

Three others were also injured in the accident. The extent of their injuries were not reported.

Police officials stated that Lewis Construction from Schofield in Marathon County was working on the site.

Houston-based EOG Resources released a statement:

“There has been an accident. We are immediately commencing our own internal investigation to assist in determining what happened. Additionally, we are fully cooperating with local, state, and federal agencies in terms of determining what was the cause of the accident. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and the families whose loved ones were in the accident that took place at 4:30 this evening.”

OSHA is investigating the construction accident.
