Lee County, FL—A Sunday night, November 14, 2010 collision involving two cars and a motorcycle resulted in injuries ranging from minor to fatal. The deadly accident occurred at the intersection of State Road 82 and Jaguar Boulevard in Lehigh Acres before 8 p.m., according to information provided by News-Press.com.

Reports indicated 48-year-old William Anthony Calloway was operating his motorcycle in Lehigh Acres, when he failed to slow behind 16-year-old Elizabeth Irene Blocker’s vehicle.

Calloway’s bike consequently slammed into the back of Blocker’s car, causing it to overturn. A second vehicle, driven by 68-year-old David L. Hurt, then struck Calloway’s motorcycle.

Both Calloway and his 50-year-old passenger, Geraldine Gregg were ejected from the motorcycle on impact.

Though emergency medical services (EMS) personnel were sent to aid those injured in the wreck, Calloway succumbed to his traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gregg, who suffered critical injuries in the crash, was rushed to Lee Memorial Hospital. David Hurt reportedly sustained minor injuries, while his 67-year-old passenger, Karen M. Hurt was transported to Lehigh Regional to be treated for serious injuries.

Neither Blocker nor her 22-year-old passenger, Justin Curtis Cook suffered any injuries in the collision. David and Karen Hurt, along with Blocker and Curtis, were wearing seatbelts at the time.

Reports did not specify whether any charges were expected in connection with the accident. It was also unknown if alcohol and/or drugs played a roll in the Lehigh Acres motorcycle crash.

Investigations continue.
