Valencia, NM—Several police agencies are investigating allegations of sexual hazing among the Valencia High School football team. Four Valencia High School seniors have been suspended while the investigations are ongoing, as reported by KOAT.

The school district determined that no more than three underclassmen players were victims of hazing, after they were alerted of the incident on Nov. 9.

Los Lunas police began their investigation and contacted the Valencia County District Attorney’s Office two days later, after discovering that the hazing was of sexual nature.

There reportedly was enough evidence to initiate an in-depth investigation by the New Mexico Police.

The names of the victims and what exactly happened to them were not reported.

The coaches have since been cleared of having any knowledge of the hazing incident. The hazing was apparently not an organized team activity.

Investigations are underway.
